kEYEinan na! : SLMC Eye Institute 30th Anniversary Food Fair

by Patricia O. Acosta, MD

What better way to celebrate an anniversary than to gather everyone to a big and delicious food fair?

In line with the 30th anniversary of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Eye Institute this year, one of the pioneer activities of the eye institute was to organize its first ever food fair, entitled “kEYEinan na!,” which was held last June 15 – 16, from 8am to 5pm, at the Metro Parking Grounds, at St. Luke’s Medical Center Quezon City. This food fair was open to all doctors, staff, patients, and guests of the hospital.

Fourteen concessionaires participated in the food fair, which included booths from our very own St. Luke’s doctors and staff. Each of the concessionaires offered a variety of dishes and cuisines, which catered to whatever your taste buds were craving for. The fair had authentic Japanese takoyaki, assorted dumplings, salted egg bagnet, freshly made bibingka, and home cooked longganisa for the Asian food lovers; while sliders, ribs, and grilled chicken catered to the American food enthusiasts. For those with a sweet tooth, the fair also offered churros, gelato, cookies, brownies, cheese tarts, and freshly brewed coffee.

It was a fun and memorable event, not only to celebrate the anniversary, but also to share the festivity of the Eye Institute with the rest of the St. Luke’s Medical Center community, which has been there to support and help the institute throughout its 30 years of existence.
